General

What is HopWatch?

HopWatch is a smart streaming subscription planner. It analyses your watchlist, content preferences, and monthly budget to create a personalised schedule of when to subscribe and cancel each streaming service — so you watch everything you want without paying for services you're not actively using.

Is HopWatch free to use?

Yes, HopWatch is free to download and use. Core features including watchlist management, plan generation, and deal browsing are all included at no cost.

Which streaming services does HopWatch support?

HopWatch supports all major streaming services including Netflix, Disney+, Max, Hulu, Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV+, Peacock, Paramount+, ESPN+, and many more. We continuously add new services — if yours isn't listed, send us a request via the feedback form.

What countries is HopWatch available in?

HopWatch is currently available in the United States, with support for additional regions being added over time. Content availability and service pricing are localised to your country when you set up your account.

Subscription Planning

How does the subscription plan work?

After you build a watchlist and set your monthly budget, HopWatch scores every streaming service by how much of your watchlist it covers, its cost, and your viewing preferences. It then generates a timeline showing the optimal months to subscribe to each service, ensuring you watch your priority content first and cancel before renewal when you're done.

Can I set a monthly streaming budget?

Yes. During setup, you specify a monthly streaming budget. HopWatch will always try to keep your planned spend within that limit and clearly flags if a generated plan goes slightly over budget. You can update your budget at any time in Preferences.

How often should I regenerate my plan?

HopWatch automatically marks your plan as outdated when a significant change occurs — such as a subscription start date passing, a major update to your watchlist, or claiming a new deal. When this happens, the app will prompt you to refresh the plan. You can also manually regenerate at any time.

What does "pending subscribe" mean on a plan item?

When you tap "Subscribe" on a plan item, the app marks it as "Pending Subscribe" and opens the service's website for you. Once you've completed the sign-up, come back to HopWatch and tap "Confirm Subscribed" — this tells the app you're now actively on that service and keeps your plan accurate.

Deals

What are "Deals" in HopWatch?

Deals are verified promotional offers from streaming services — things like discounted first months, free trial extensions, or bundle pricing. Our team verifies each deal before it appears in the app so you only see legitimate, active offers.

How does claiming a deal affect my plan?

When you claim a deal, HopWatch automatically refreshes your subscription plan to factor in the promotional pricing. Bundle deals are treated as a single atomic unit — if you claim a multi-service bundle, the plan schedules all included services together at the bundle price.

Privacy & Account

Is my personal data secure?

Yes. HopWatch uses industry-standard security practices including encrypted data transmission and secure authentication. We do not sell your data to third parties. See our Privacy Policy for full details on what we collect and how it's used.

Does HopWatch connect to my streaming accounts?

No. HopWatch does not connect to or log in to your streaming accounts. You manually enter the services you currently subscribe to, and the app uses that information alongside public content data to build your plan. Your streaming credentials are never shared with us.
